Three Lions: Thomas Tuchel names England squad for September World Cup qualifiers

There is no doubt I am a big fan of Trent and Jack Grealish.”Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham has been left out as he continues his recovery from shoulder surgery.Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka and Chelsea team-mates Cole Palmer and Levi Colwill are also out through injury.There is also no place for experienced England defender Kyle Walker, his former Manchester City team-mate Phil Foden and Ah-Ahli striker Ivan Toney.Who has been named in the latest England squad?Image source, Getty ImagesImage caption, Marcus Rashford is currently on loan at BarcelonaAmong the 24-man squad, there are first senior call-ups for Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson and Tottenham Hotspur defender Djed Spence, following impressive starts to the new season for their clubs.Tuchel said Anderson played a “key part” in helping Forest qualify for Europe last season.He also described Spence as a “very aggressive player who loves to have one-on-one duels”.There are recalls for Marcus Rashford and Crystal Palace midfielder Adam Wharton, while 35-year-old Brentford defender Jordan Henderson – who has featured in three of Tuchel’s four games in charge – is also included again.There’s also a return to the squad for experienced Man City defender John Stones, who missed much of last season’s games through injury.Tuchel said he hoped his new squad would “create a better feeling and play with more energy.”When are England’s qualifiers against Andorra and Serbia?Image source, Getty ImagesImage caption, England will play Andorra at Villa Park – the first time the senior men’s side has played there in twenty yearsEngland play Andorra at Villa Park – Aston Villa’s home ground – on Saturday 6 September, with kick-off at 5pm.
