Sign in to your GiveMeSport accountTottenham’s new prospective manager Thomas Frank has reportedly demanded the club sign Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo, according to the Mirror. Spurs parted ways with Ange Postecoglou last week and, despite winning the Europa League, a dismal 17th-placed finish in the Premier League was difficult to overlook. The managerial post has since been linked with the likes of Frank and Newcastle boss Eddie Howe, but it is the former who is increasingly likely to be appointed in the role. Now, it has been revealed that if Frank were to leave life at the Gtech Community stadium for North London, he would insist on bringing Mbeumo with him. Frank Urges Tottenham to Sign MbeumoThe Lilywhites could raid BrentfordAs per the Mirror, Frank’s switch to Tottenham could be completed as early as next week and the Danish tactician has told Daniel Levy and his entourage to ensure Mbeumo makes the move as well. It is Manchester United who are the most advanced in pursuit of the Cameroonian thus far. The Red Devils have been given the green light by the player, and are currently working to reach an agreement with the Bees, who are holding out for close to £60 million. Spurs would offer around £130,000 per week in wages and this is some way short of the Red Devils’ contract proposal, which is closer to the £200,000-per-week mark. But the prospect of continuing under Frank’s tutelage while also featuring in the Champions League could be enough to turn Mbeumo away from a move to Old Trafford and towards Tottenham instead. He notched a remarkable 20 league goals and served up a further seven assists for his teammates in what was his best campaign yet. The 25-year-old’s arrival could boost Tottenham’s attacking threat by a significant margin, though it remains to be seen what decision he makes on his future.
