With the Gunners Premier League title hopes all by over following the North Londoners 1-1 draw against Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday lunchtime, the club are already looking to next season.Berta was formerly the sporting director at Atletico Madrid for eight years, prior to joining Arteta last week, following the exit of Edu earlier in the season – with Berta described as a top negotiator who could help the club finally land the Premier League after more than two decades. Berta was the discreet kingpin behind the scenes that helped Atletico win La Liga twice, as well as reaching the Champions League final twice, not to mention landing the Europa League under Diego Simeone, and has already drawn up as shortlist of names that could steer the Gunners to glory next term. It is understood the players on Berta’s wishlist include Martin Zubimendi, Viktor Gyokeres, Benjamin Sesko and Nico Williams.
