The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has intensified its efforts to ensure full capacity at the Zungeru Hydropower Plant, aiming to meet the energy needs of the region. This project, valued at $1.3 billion, is a significant milestone in the fight against climate change and poverty alleviation.

However, challenges persist as the North-east governors urge the Federal Government (FG) to fast-track the Mambila hydropower project to address the 350MW generation gap left by the Zungeru plant.
