United took a cautious approach with Bryan Mbeumo, only playing him in the final US tour game.United will keep Hojlund aware of offers, and open the door to a move if the terms are suitable.But he has not been ostracised like Alejandro Garnacho and Jadon Sancho.This case is more similar to West Ham’s offer for Harry Maguire two seasons ago, when United accepted a bid.Maguire chose to stay and fight for his place, and if that is what Hojlund chooses to do this season, United may have to keep him.It will be up to United, and interested clubs, to persuade him that a move is in his best interests.
