THE new Rangers era begins today as Russell Martin welcomed his players at Auchenhowie for his very first training session after taking over as boss.

The Rangers players and coaches were spotted driving into the training ground as they reported back for pre-season training after the summer break.

Cyriel Dessers is expected to leave the club with AEK Athens closing in but the only reason he’s not been pictured this morning is because he’s been given some extra time following his Nigeria exploits.

The same goes for Belgian midfielder Nico Raskin, who Gers are looking to tie down on a new deal amid growing transfer interest.

But unlike the rest of the players, the Colombian didn’t drive into the training facility himself.

He was spotted arriving via taxi.

Birmingham pair Dowell and Davies arrived together as they car-shared with the centre-back taking the wheel.

Jack Butland and Robin Propper were all smiles as they made their way into the Milngavie complex.

Skipper James Tavernier and Ridvan Yilmaz were pictured too, while sporting director Kevin Thelwell and coaches were spotted as well.

There was no sign of head coach Martin but it’s likely he was already in the door with members of staff to ensure everything was ready for his new players arriving.
