Despite Tosin Adarabioyo’s successful debut year at Chelsea last season, his name has cropped up in the transfer rumour mill. There is no doubt that Tosin Adarabioyo, 27, turned out to be an inspired signing from Chelsea last summer on a free transfer. The central defender injected experience and composure into the Blues squad, impressing during 41 appearances across all competitions.
He certainly played his role in Enzo Maresca’s team winning the Club World Cup and Conference League, plus finishing fourth in the Premier League. However, reports this week claim that Chelsea could be open to selling Tosin if clubs bid around £30m for him.
We’re not surprised to hear Chelsea fans are furious at suggestions Tosin may be sold.READ MORE: What Todd Boehly thought when Chelsea signed Tosin Adarabioyo has now been proven completely wrongPhoto by Emilee Chinn – FIFA/FIFA via Getty ImagesTosin Adarabioyo has spoken about Chelsea’s winning mentalityLike the rest of Chelsea’s squad that won the Club World Cup this summer, Tosin is taking a well-deserved rest before the 2025/26 campaign.Interestingly, the commanding centre-back has spoken this week about his arrival at Chelsea a year ago, insisting he immediately knew about the expectation to win silverware.Speaking via Arise News, Tosin said: “When you sign for Chelsea, automatically you know this club is there to win everything.“You go to the training ground, you see pictures of all the different trophies that have been won in the past and you automatically have that expectation and that pressure to know that this year we have to win something, we have to be the next picture on the wall to lift the trophy.“This season we managed to win two trophies, the Conference League and the Club World Cup.
We’re now there in history on the walls, all over Stamford Bridge, all over the training ground.
We’ve created history this year with the Club World Cup being the first of its type to win it.”Photo by Jonathan Moscrop/Getty ImagesChelsea need to wake up and realise Tosin Adarabioyo is vital componentTosin proved last season he does all the right things on the pitch for Chelsea.
It turns out that he’s brilliant off the pitch, too.The English defender understood the assignment and culture of the football club from day one, so that’s not the type of individual you want to lose.
For the owners, they must resist the temptation to bank a large profit if they receive any transfer offers this summer. On top of that, Josh Acheampong said “Uncle Tosin” always gives him advice as a senior figure in Chelsea’s young dressing room. Now that Maresca’s side have won two trophies as a group, it’s time for them to kick on and show huge ambition.
We feel Tosin can play a large role, both on and off the pitch, with this next phase.
