Sky Sports: Arsenal in Pole Position to Sign ‘the Best Striker in the World’

The Gunners have earmarked the Sweden international as a potential reinforcement for Mikel Arteta’s frontline and are believed to be ahead of Manchester United in the pursuit of the 26-year-old. Tavolieri claims United are ‘concerned’ about Arsenal’s lead in the race for Gyokeres and have already begun exploring alternative targets, including Fiorentina forward Moise Kean. Gyokeres is reportedly open to a Premier League move after the season, having previously spent time in England with Brighton and Coventry City before joining Sporting in 2023. The Gunners are expected to address their attacking concerns with the arrival of a new number nine, after closing in on a deal for Real Sociedad star Martin Zubimendi.
